Jewish Senator Wants Christian Purged From Government

Washington DC - U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, former Democratic presidential nominee, indicated yesterday that those who affirm salvation in Jesus Christ are unfit for public office.

In a hearing before the Senate Budget Committee, Sanders informed  White House deputy budget director nominee Russell Vought, a Christian, that his Christian beliefs were not consistent with "what this country is supposed to be about."

A visibly agitated Sanders made his statement after a brief but heated series of questions concerning an article Vought once wrote in defense of his alma mater, Wheaton College.  In this article Vought defended Christianity as the one true faith and the only path to salvation, as affirmed in Wheaton's statement of faith. 

Referencing a document produced by a religious minority group in response to Vought's article, Sanders wondered allowed if Vought's views were "Islamophobic" before going on to imply that they were also anti-Semitic - (Sanders, apparently forgetting that Jesus Christ, the source of Vought's views and the founder of the Christian faith was Himself an ethnic Jew.)

Sander's actions are concerning for a number of reasons not least of which because they represent a rejection of Christ's own words about salvation (e.g. John 14:6) but also because Sanders might well have taken his anti-Christian bigotry into the White House had things turned out differently in the last presidential election.
